See how the assumptions add up.
Enter a current bill and an assumed annual increase. This illustration compounds that percentage; it does not predict approved utility rates, usage changes, or savings.
Understanding rate examples
Grid Stability’s energy information uses historical SCE rate comparisons and illustrative annual increases of 6% or approximately 6.5%. Those are assumptions based on a specific period and bill sample, not approved future rates. A household’s effective rate depends on tariff, time of use, fixed charges, location, and assistance programs.
How this calculator works
Illustrated future monthly bill = current monthly bill × (1 + assumed annual increase ÷ 100)years. The model holds usage and all other factors constant. It does not separate delivery, generation, fixed charges, taxes, or inflation.
Look beyond the headline rate
Compare your actual rate plan, usage timing, CARE/FERA status, solar export terms, and any proposed PPA escalator. Verify current rates and tariff changes with your utility and the CPUC.
